Of Many Things

We've been busy this past month! Kyle and Andrew have been busy working at their jobs, and the rest of us have been busy doing school, gardening, working on the old house, and so on!

In January, we planted 20+ bare root (dormant) fruit trees. It was quite a project! Above, Rebecca and I busy planting.

Philip putting cinder blocks around the trees in order to keep the dogs from digging up/chewing on them.

What I most often do in my leisure moments. :-)

Philip faithfully practicing his violin...

Timmy relaxing... :-)

A quiet Sunday afternoon at church... (It must have been raining, because we normally play volleyball together in the afternoons.)

Mama, Rebecca, Paul, and Philip spent two weeks in January painting and fixing up our former house. They worked very hard, and got a lot done!

Paul painting the living room.

Hi, Phil!

Timber's choice of a comfy bed.

The boys made a trailer to hitch onto the back of their bikes. It comes in very handy when transporting heavy objects.

Mama pruning the fruit trees...

Philip and Bethie working on leveling the garden.

Mama taking out Tundra's stitches from her surgery. She had quite an audience to survey her surgical skills with a pair of forceps.

We had our dear friends, Lyle and Christa Marvin, over today, and enjoyed taking them on a walk to the old citrus fields, which has a good view of the surrounding hills. We had a very happy afternoon with them. :)

I think we've come to the point of realization that life will always be busy--whether it's painting the old house on Wednesdays, running after the dogs--who know how to open the gate!--gardening, taking care of little ones, working at busy jobs, besides the normal school and chores and cooking and so forth--there will always be something to keep us active. But we are very thankful for the full lives that God has blessed us with, and the wonderful people that we can share this busy-ness with. :-)

"The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;
Yes, I have a good inheritance.

You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
(Psalm 16:6,11)
